Sweetwater seeks a lover of Jesus Christ, gifted in networking, fundraising, business management, and/or event-planning to help nurture our young nonprofit into a position of financial strength and flexibility.
The Outreach Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director on a coordinated long term strategy for developing capital and financial strength, short term fundraising objectives to meet financial goals, accounting, establishing membership with the ECFA, maintaining consistent contact with donors, and increasing public awareness of Sweetwater and our mission.
Primary Duties
- Design and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy
- Initiate, plan, and organize fundraisers and outreach events
- Manage Sweetwater awareness campaigns with churches, universities, Christian mission organizations, and individuals
- Manage communications with volunteers and financial supporters
- Manage the production of Sweetwater literature, Sweet SWAG, etc.
- Recruit and shepherd interns and volunteers for the outreach and fundraising program
Required Credentials
- A member of a local church in good standing
- Aligned with Sweetwater’s statement of faith
- Unreserved commitment to Sweetwater’s ministry, clients, and supporters
- Demonstrated success of fundraising or financial development for non-profit or for-profit businesses
- Experience in event organization
Skills, Gifts, and Temperament
Strong instincts with human psychology and salesmanship for communicating Sweetwater’s unique mission to diverse groups of people with varied interests; strong organizational and administrative skills; discernment, leadership, service.
Compensation and Hours
This is a self-supported position with the aim of raising sufficient funds to cover a reasonable salary. Sweetwater will aid the Outreach Coordinator candidate as needed in developing a financial support network. Hours are negotiable according to the candidate’s availability and a jointly-drafted financial development plan for Sweetwater.
Work Environment
Sweetwater is a Christian organization where prayers and praises to God can be heard throughout the day as the Sweetwater family goes about their work. Clear and honest communication with Christian charity is encouraged among team members. Working remotely is an option that can be discussed.
