Social Media Manager

Use your social media skills to serve widows and orphans around the world!

Sweetwater is seeking motivated individuals to maintain a strong online presence for Sweetwater. Candidates will distribute online marketing initiatives, company updates, and educational material through social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to connect with partners and increase awareness of our work and mission.

Qualified candidates will be acquainted with Sweetwater’s mission and unique approach to water ministry and will understand the appropriate language and strategy required to communicate Sweetwater to diverse target audiences.

Hours 

Min 10 hrs/week. Volunteers may offer more as they are able.  

Compensation 

Our Social Media gurus will gain the joy and treasure of serving some of the world’s most marginalized groups and enjoy the fellowship of a work family who cares and prays for one another regularly.

If working locally, candidate will receive little-to-no cost housing with a host family in the area and gas and mileage reimbursements as allowed. All full-time and part-time staff, as well as interns and volunteers, are encouraged to develop prayer and financial ministry partners for support and monetary provision according to individual financial need. Budgetary requirements will be assessed and determined through communication with Sweetwater staff. Sweetwater can provide training and assistance to candidates as they go through the process of ministry partner development.

For all candidates, any direct costs associated with this position will be covered by Sweetwater such as software licenses (Adobe etc.) or printing costs. All candidates will be expected to use personal equipment (e.g. laptop, cell phone, tablet, etc.) unless underlying circumstances require Sweetwater to provide one.

Responsibilities 

  • Research target audiences and utilize current trends in social media to increase Sweetwater’s visibility, report on projects, and support fundraising campaigns 
  • Create engaging text, video, and image content
  • Monitor web traffic 
  • Develop optimal posting schedule and marketing plan 
  • Communicate regularly with the Director for content and to relay social media feedback  

Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent experience in social media engagement 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly to diverse audiences with words and pictures 
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision 
  • Believer in Jesus Christ who can, in good conscience, sign Sweetwater’s Statement of Faith
